With striking performances from an attractive cast, ETERNAL SUMMER is an affecting look at first love, both gay and straight. Studious Jonathan and mischievous Shane are grade school classmates. After Shane misbehaves, their teacher asks Jonathan to befriend him so that Shane can benefit from his influence. The two opposites hit it off. Years pass and the teenagers remain inseparable. When transfer student Carrie enters the picture, the dynamics change. She’s attracted to an uninterested Jonathan, while jealous Shane develops a crush on Carrie. She doesn’t want to come between the friends so she makes Shane a challenge she’s certain he can’t meet: she’ll go out with him if he gets into college, which forces Jonathan to face up to his true feelings about his best friend.

Pablo is a young, HIV-positive poet who decides to write a diary and document his search to cure both his failing love life and health. Pablo unsuccessfully looks for love in bars and personal ads, and settles for anonymous sex in porno theaters. He is also discouraged about relying on his father’s aid to make ends meet. But he has no choice since he can’t get his writing published and he makes so little money as a French teacher. He is also forced to share an apartment (and a love-hate relationship) with his aunt. When Pablo becomes a part of an intimate leather circle, he begins to fully explore his fascination with S&M practices. Sex soon becomes an ideal means for Pablo to reconfirm that he is alive. By year’s end, Pablo has pages and pages of well-documented sexual adventures and medical treatment for his dropping T-cell count. He decides to publish his diary as a novel thanks to the emotional support of his best friend Nicolas.

Luke (Archer) is a “gay cliché”: flitting from job to job with no thought of tomorrow, he cruises the bars looking for the perfect mate…for the night. On a typical morning, he wakes up in a tangle of bodies and heads to his job at a Chelsea shop specializing in sex toys and rainbow paraphernalia. At work he is endlessly lectured about gay civil rights by his co-worker Zeke (Cory Grant), a cutie with loftier goals than selling dildos. (Zeke is a “centered” man with goals: during his downtime he attends a yummy nude yoga class.) Luke’s life of one-night stands finally looks like it might come to an end when he meets sultry beauty Stephen (Charlie David, star of “Dante’s Cove”). Smitten with his new love, Luke is convinced by him to attend meetings for the sexually compulsive and take his life more seriously. But Luke’s world falls apart when he discovers that Stephen has completely misrepresented himself. Does Luke re-enter the party boy world whose fabulous colors tend to fade by morning, or is it time for him to open his heart and mind to new possibilities?
